During the construction of a 4 km tunnel, Skanska intended to compare different explosives in terms of efficiency. But efficiency wasn’t their only concern. Ensuring that the work environment remained safe during these tests was paramount. They aimed to minutely monitor the air quality post each explosive test, observing changes in the gasses released.

Specific Needs:

• An instrument designed for continuous monitoring of CO, CO2, O2, and NOX.
• Reliable data acquisition spanning three months.
• An apparatus that would stand up to the rigours of the tunnel construction environment, ensuring accuracy in readings despite the harsh surroundings.

Our interaction with Skanska started with a comprehensive analysis of their needs.
