The Formaldehyde sensor module can accurately measure low concentrations of CH2O at the ppb/ppm level in the ambient air. The sensor module design is capable of monitoring formaldehyde emissions from point sources in real-time.

The formaldehyde sensor module works on an electrochemical principle. Electrochemical sensors are very sensitive to the presence of CH2O and also provide a stable response to transient relative humidity changes.
